When clients participate in standardization activities, the technical proposals for submitting or promoting standard manuscript fails to timely apply for patents or are not covered by their patent claim; or during standard discussion and modification as well as patent application examination reply, correspondence between the claim of patent and standard description is not tracked and adjusted synchronously, causing the standard description schemes failing to be covered by effective claim when standard freezing - namely failing in participation in standardization activities so as not to form effective standard essential patent advantages.

Working procedure

We assist clients to establish standard patent linkage mechanism and implement the followings:

  To analyze the standard documents that clients submitted to corresponding standard organizations, assist standardization personnel and relevant technical personnel to conduct patent points mining of standard documents, direct technical personnel to proceed with patent application protection for the technical innovation achievements in standard documents;

  To conduct patent and standard conformance analysis, write or assist the standardization personnel in writing Claim Chart (CC) for the patent applications from standard documents or the patents already owned by clients prior to the submission of standard documents;

  To conduct dynamic tracking of the standard related patents, maintain and manage CC, propose adjustment suggestion for standard documents and modification suggestion for patent application documents, strive to have the licensed patent protection scope cover the frozen standard.

Service achievements

We assist clients to form a linkage mechanism between standard and patent, follow up and participate in the whole work flow of standardization and patent application, help clients to cultivate standard essential patents. We have successfully assisted clients to cultivate more than 60 international standard essential patents by the end of 2017.
